PvP Talent Build: Healer-killer Juyo Sentinel – 33/8/0

May 8, 2012 6 comments

LAST UDPATE: Update 1.2.3

This is a PvP build for the Sentinel. It will mainly focus on the Watchman specialization tree.

Note: This build was created with the Darth Hater Talent Calculator. The link to view this build is here. The associated Marauder build is here.

Class: Sentinel
Primary Focus: Watchman
Secondary Focus: Combat
Purpose: PvP
Goal: This build is about killing healers while simultaneously becoming one (sorta). Your DoTs can heal the party with each tick while in Juyo after popping Zen, and DoTs just generally keep you alive, even when Zen isn’t up. Healer-hurting skills like your interrupt (Force Kick) are on a short cooldown, Force Jump has its minimum range eliminated and its cooldown reduced, and you are able to run farther and faster in Force Camouflage as well.

Don’t make me go all Juyo on you!

All points allocated are the maximum allowed for each ability, unless otherwise noted.

20 innovative things about Crowfall

crowfall

Crowfall is an amazing new MMO that is the works (due to launch sometime late 2016-early 2017). This is definitely an MMO to keep your eye on, especially if you are like me, and you like intense PvP, character creation, meaningful choices and consequences, and bragging rights.

My goal today is to write up some of the reasons I think Crowfall is going to be awesome, that way:

  1. People who follow my blog can become aware of the game if they aren’t already.
  2. People can share this with their friends to get them interested.
  3. I can get this out of my system, because I am addicted to Crowfall news.

Here are 20 things about Crowfall that I think make it different and new when compared to the current MMO scenery. Read more…

UPDATED: 12/29/14 for Update 3.0.1

With Update 3.0 came a lot of combat changes, and I have been wanting to write a post on Attack Types and Damage Types for about 3 years now (I know, lazy). Here are some of the most recent changes, along with the Attack and Damage Types for reference, so people can more effectively create Ops groups and Ranked PvP teams.

So Many Articles, So Little Time

November 1, 2012 Comments off

I bet some people have wondered where all of my articles on SWTOR have been! I have been super busy in real life, so I have been keeping my commitments on TORWars and Corellian Run, but I have not been posting much over here. I meant to start doing a Rant ‘N Rave every week, but I let that go to the wayside, unfortunately. I will pick that back up at some point, or perhaps not be so strict on the once-per-week thing.

Anyway, for now, I would refer you to my recent articles on TORWars.com on my Smuggler Weekly Column and on Corellian Run Radio on my PvP column, Tactical Strike. Read more…

PvP Talent Build: Shield Tech/Advanced Prototype Hybrid Powertech – 25/14/2

June 9, 2012 3 comments

LAST UDPATE: Update 1.2.6

This is a PvP build for the Powertech. It is a hybrid between the Shield Tech and Advanced Prototype specialization trees.

Note: This build was created with the Darth Hater Talent Calculator. The link to view this build is here. The associated Vanguard build is here.

Class: Powertech
Primary Focus: Shield Tech
Secondary Focus: Advanced Prototype
Purpose: PvP
Goal: This build is about movement, interrupts, damage mitigation, and our favorite: Rocket Punch. This build incorporates Jet Charge, while taking both damage mitigation talents for a total of 9% damage mitigation while Ion Gas Cylinder is active. This build uses some shield-activated talents, but does not stack shield-chance itself, due to only being able to shield half of the damage types. Rocket Punch is buffed with a proc-based cooldown-reset, a boost to crit chance and damage, and a boost to direct damage.

Easily one of the coolest armor looks in the game

All points allocated are the maximum allowed for each ability, unless otherwise noted.
