Reminiscing About KOTOR

This last week was the 10th anniversary of Knights of the Old Republic. I wanted to talk today about some of the things I loved about that game and what it meant to me in the grand scheme of things.

KOTOR was my first RPG. I know what you are thinking, “Geld, you can’t be serious! There were so many RPGs before KOTOR.” I know that, but you have to think, I was only 14 when this game came out. I had played other games, like the Jedi Knight series, X-Wing Alliance, and some text based games. I never played table top games. Very Late Introduction: A Hello From Geldarion

Howdy there, most of you already know me. My name is Geldarion, and this is my blog!

I am a musician, gamer, and chemist. I enjoy spending time with my wife, studying exact quantum dynamics, and playing guitar, and occasionally, I play two games called Star Wars: The Old Republic and Lord of the Rings Online. This blog will mostly be about those two games.

I began gaming in 1991, when my dad brought home a Mac. I don’t remember the model, because I was 3 at the time, but suffice it to say that it was a very early model. When we got a PC, I began playing games such as the Jedi Knight series, X-Wing Alliance, Battlefront, Knights of the Old Republic I & II, World of Warcraft (very briefly, in Vanilla WoW), City of Heroes, Runescape, and Rappelz. I have owned or played pretty much every Star Wars game there is. Today my game of choice is Star Wars: The Old Republic, with Lord of the Rings Online as my off-hand game (so to speak). Read more…
