SWTOR Story Ranking – The 1-10 Planets
As most people who play Star Wars: The Old Republic know, Bioware considers their Story as their “fourth pillar,” along with Exploration, Combat, and Progression. Because of this lofty goal, they had every storyline fully voice-acted, and they gave each class their own completely fleshed-out stories.
I want to rank each story by its natural divisions. Each story has the Prologue and three Chapters. The Prologue is separated into two different sections (in my mind) of the 1-10 Starter Planets and Coruscant/Dromund Kaas. I will tackle the 1-10 Starter Planets today.
I will give my ranking first, then I will fully explain my position with potential spoilers, so if you just want to see what I think, don’t go past the big spoiler text. Feel free to comment on all of the rankings and provide your own if you want! Be sure to add your reasoning as well! Also stay tuned for more rankings of the additional parts, as well as the ultimate story ranking at the end! Which class will win?
Here is my ranking. They are also links in case you only want to read my analysis of certain classes. Be careful while scrolling!
- Trooper – 10/10
- Inquisitor – 9/10
- Agent – 9/10
- Bounty Hunter – 8/10
- Smuggler – 8/10
- Warrior – 7/10
- Knight – 7/10
- Consular – 5/10

The name’s Degana. Deg’eldari’oned Degana
After completing my Sage, that left two advanced classes before I had all 8 stories completed. After completing the Nightmare mode raid I talked about in my last article, I logged on to my Operative (a Chiss named Deg’eldari’oned) to start leveling him, since he was the next on my list.
He started about level 22 and has since been rocketed up to level 50. Let me tell you why I moved so fast on these characters I had been avoiding for so long.
Sage “Completed”
Ding!
About a week ago, I finished up my Jedi Sage (my 6th level 50) that I made the first day of pre-launch early access. Almost exactly a year later, but I finally got around to doing it.
At first, the Consular story dragged on Coruscant in the Prologue. I thought that the Consular story would be consistently boring, but apparently, it was just saving the best for later. Every chapter was more interesting, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Up to this point I would’ve ranked the stories like so:
- Knight/Warrior
- Bounty Hunter
- Smuggler
- Trooper
Now with the Consular, taking into account all of the story, not just the Prologue (which is by far the worst Prologue of any I have seen), the rankings like this for me: Read more…
A Free-to-Play Player’s Guide to the Cartel Market
UPDATED: November 15th, 2012 for Patch 1.5
Welcome to the Fanatical Swordsman’s Free-to-Play Player’s Guide to the Cartel Market.
My goal with this article is to keep the general public up-to-date on the best purchases for Free-to-Play players to make. If you plan to never spend a dime on the game, then this is not the guide for you, as everything in this will have some real-world dollar amount attached to it. If you want to spend as little as possible, then this is the guide for you.
Subscribers considering going Free-to-Play should also read carefully, as I compare pricing to the standard 1-month rate of $14.99. Some of the package options when only playing one way (such as Operations only) save a bit of money from the subscription. Read more…
When Is The Patch Again?
Patch 1.5 has been on the Public Test Server for quite some time now. A recent post from Joveth Gonzales confirmed that we will not see it hit the live servers this week.
Joveth Gonzalez has just confirmed via Twitter that there will be “No 1.5 this week. We’re still testing on PTS. This was going to be a normal maintenance for our systems.”
He replied:
Correct. Stay tuned for info on when Game Update 1.5 is coming out. You shouldn’t have to wait too long.
Now the question remains, when will it hit? Today is the six-week mark from the last content update. It isn’t really because I am especially looking forward to this particular patch (though HK-51 is awesome), it is really more of an interest in when Patch 1.6 will come out with Ancient Hypergates. As I have expressed before on Tactical Strike, I have been chomping at the bit to get into Ancient Hypergates. So the faster 1.5 gets here, the faster 1.6 gets here, and the faster I am happy!
